My client is actively seeking a dedicated Quality Technician to join their dynamic manufacturing team.

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to contribute to a company committed to producing high-quality products. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring product and system compliance with stringent quality standards, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining excellence in every aspect of the manufacturing process.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Perform regular testing and audits to ensure compliance.
  • Supporting the business areas to uphold continuity of supply
  • Ensuring that the manufacturing processes use the right method, with the correctly chosen tools and raw materials
  • Collaborate with different departments to develop corrective actions, solutions, controls and improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement.
  • Inspecting and testing of materials, processes and products to ensure specifications are being met
  • Ability to identify issues, segregate non-conforming products
  • Perform internal audits and provide support for external and supplier audits to ISO9001
  • Ability to research, analyse and report within a manufacturing environment
  • Implementing change from reactive to proactive practices
  • Ensuring Quality Plans are adhered to
  • Ensuring safe and high standard of packaging of all customer products
  • Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by reducing scrap and reworks and increasing tonnage.

Person Specification

The successful candidates will need to demonstrate on a sustained basis in their employment the following.

  • Report to the Quality Manager and work on 12-hour shifts on rotating continental shift pattern
  • Ability to organise, count, measure and record material
  • Manage stressful situations
  • Understanding and adherence in both written and verbal work instructions
  • Communicate clearly with existing and potential external partners and to other staff, in respect to activities processes and methodologies employed in the department
  • Highly self-motivated, disciplined and organised
  • Time Management, delivering a high and sustained standard of attendance and timekeeping
  • Able and willing to commit to working shift patterns and overtime as required
  • Being customer focused
  • Flexibility to change
  • Meeting deadlines and multi tasking
  • Focus on cost management, and absolute adherence to Quality Requirements
  • Applicants will ideally have experience in extrusion where optimising quality of performance and output are key performance measurements
  • Knowledge and application of lean manufacturing techniques is highly desirable

Qualifications

  • GCSE/National 5 or higher in Mathematics or to a demonstrable equivalent standard: Essential
  • GCSE/National 5 or higher in English or to a demonstrable equivalent standard: Essential
  • ISO9001 internal auditor trained – Preferable
