What You’ll Be Doing

As a Shift Manager, you’ll take the lead in managing shift teams, driving operational efficiency, and maintaining top-tier safety and quality standards. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Inspiring and Leading Your Team

  • Supervise and motivate operators, technicians, and support staff during your shift.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and training to help your team thrive.
  • Manage shift schedules, transitions, and tasks to ensure seamless operations.
  • Build a positive, collaborative work environment that fosters morale and engagement.

2. Prioritising Safety and Well-Being

  • Champion a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Conduct regular safety checks, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
  • Lead emergency response procedures and ensure proper use of PPE.

3. Driving Quality Excellence

  • Ensure products meet the highest quality standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to resolve issues and maintain consistency.
  • Address customer concerns promptly, ensuring satisfaction with every order.

4. Delivering Results

  • Meet and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) for production, safety, and quality.
  • Analyse performance data to identify trends and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement using lean methodologies to optimise efficiency.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within manufacturing or operations.
  • Strong leadership skills to inspire and develop teams.
  • A solid understanding of health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication abilities.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to meet changing operational needs.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in operations management or engineering.
  • Certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH).
