An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Supervisor to join a well-established manufacturing business within its Maintenance Department. This is a hands-on, permanent role offering responsibility, variety, and the chance to play a key role in delivering engineering and maintenance projects that directly support site performance.
The role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll take ownership of the planning, coordination, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
This role will suit someone who enjoys being on the shop floor, working closely with contractors and internal teams, and driving projects through from concept to completion.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day planning, coordination, and supervision of engineering and maintenance projects
- Plan, schedule, and track project progress, communicating clearly with all stakeholders
- Review and assess contractor RAMS, ensuring compliance and suitability
- Identify and resolve project challenges, escalating issues where required and working with third parties to deliver practical solutions
- Arrange and manage Permit to Work (PTW), Hot Work, Confined Space, and Lock-Out/Tag-Out processes
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, maintaining legal and site requirements
- Maintain accurate project documentation, records, and performance data
- Collaborate with operations and other departments to prioritise projects impacting operational performance
- Lead by example, setting high standards for safety, integrity, and professional behaviour
What we’re looking for
- HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent); a time-served apprenticeship will also be considered
- 3–5 years’ experience in project supervision, project management, or maintenance supervision
- Background in a 24/7 industrial or manufacturing environment is highly desirable
- Strong core discipline (Mechanical or Electrical) with a good working knowledge of other engineering areas
- Solid understanding of health & safety systems, including PTW, RAMS, and Lock-Out/Tag-Out
- Experience using project management tools and CMMS
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- A hands-on, proactive, and adaptable approach
