moira” recruitment is working with an established manufacturing business in Chirnside to recruit an Engineering Stores & Maintenance Planner to take ownership of the engineering stores function while also playing an important role in the planning and coordination of site maintenance.

This isn’t a general warehouse or stores role.

You’ll be working closely with the engineering and maintenance teams, making sure critical spares are available when they’re needed, stock is properly controlled and the parts, resources and information required for planned maintenance are in place.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll have responsibility for the day-to-day running and development of the engineering stores function, including:

• Managing engineering spares, consumables and MRO inventory
• Making sure critical spares are identified, available and properly controlled
• Maintaining accurate stock levels and carrying out regular stock checks
• Raising purchase orders and sourcing engineering parts and materials
• Working with suppliers on pricing, availability and lead times
• Identifying opportunities to improve stockholding and reduce unnecessary costs
• Keeping the engineering stores organised and effective
• Supporting preventative and reactive maintenance planning
• Helping schedule maintenance activities around production requirements
• Making sure parts and resources are available ahead of planned maintenance
• Supporting shutdowns and larger maintenance activities
• Maintaining accurate information within the site’s maintenance and stock systems
• Working closely with engineering, maintenance, production and purchasing teams

Who are we looking for?

You don’t need to have held the exact job title before.

You might currently be an Engineering Stores Coordinator, MRO Stores Controller, Engineering Stores Supervisor, Maintenance Stores Coordinator, Engineering Buyer, Maintenance Coordinator or someone already combining stores and maintenance responsibilities.

What matters is that you understand engineering spares and MRO inventory and have experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, process or industrial environment.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Experience within engineering stores, MRO, maintenance planning or a similar environment
• Good knowledge of engineering parts, spares and consumables
• Experience of stock control and purchasing
• An understanding of planned and preventative maintenance
• Experience using a CMMS, maintenance management or stock control system
• Strong organisational and planning skills
• Confidence working with engineers, suppliers and production teams
